Covid-19 Update

COVID-19 UPDATE: 24/04/2020

We can confirm that our office continues to remain open throughout the crisis.

Given the critical support that we provide to keep key workers moving, we are exempt from the business closure order. We at Palmer & Martin are proud to provide support to the NHS – providing them with vehicles that are critical to their daily operations, as well as providing vehicles to other critical supply chain providers. We need to be open for the NHS staff, teachers, care workers, delivery drivers and all the other key workers that we provide vehicles for.

We are not taking this situation lightly, and completely understand our obligations regarding the safety and well fare of our staff and customers. We want to assure our customers that we are doing everything in our power to protect both our customers and our staff. We have implemented steps such as reducing the office staff to a bare minimum, only enough to still function in a limited capacity and encouraged most of the staff to work remotely.

We are wiping all ‘touch points’ and surfaces regularly throughout the course of each day in both our office and in our vehicles. We are also wiping (with anti-bacterial wipes) all pens and keys after each touch, and our staff are wearing disposable latex gloves. We have disposable latex gloves available for our customers also.

To support social distancing we will be operating a one-in-one-out policy for those customers that have no choice but to visit our office, with customers being asked to queue two metres apart while outside the building. Our counter will not be manned to the same level so please accept our apologies if service is slower than normal.

We understand that in certain circumstances our customers, who may not be key workers, have no choice but to hire a vehicle, but politely ask those customers to do so only for emergencies and only if they have no other alternative. If the hire is not absolutely necessary then please respect the government’s guidance and stay at home.

The safety of our staff and customers is our primary concern. Together, we can help keep key workers moving by following this guidance. We’re keeping our processes under constant review and will update them if necessary.

We may reduce the office opening hours throughout this crisis period and have a couple of emergency telephone numbers to reach us on if you cannot get through on the office line. In this instance please use 07540724493 or 07540724494 or for any matters of a non-urgent nature then please e-mail:  james@palmerandmartin.co.uk or ryan@palmerandmartin.co.uk

We would like to wish all of our customers well during these unprecedented times that we are experiencing. The Palmer & Martin Team.
